Abu Dhabi Police deploy smart traffic robots at Yas Mall in road safety drive
Initiative aims to strengthen compliance with traffic laws and reduce accidents
ABU DHABI – Police in UAE capital have deployed smart traffic robots at Yas Mall as part of a major road safety awareness exhibition held under its “Smart Road Security” strategy.
The initiative aims to enhance public understanding of traffic regulations through digital innovation and interactive engagement tools. The exhibition forms part of ongoing efforts by Abu Dhabi Police to strengthen road safety culture across the emirate.
Visitors at the commercial centre were introduced to advanced systems designed to improve awareness and compliance with traffic laws.
Smart deployment
The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police General Command organised the awareness exhibition at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi, presenting a range of innovative projects focused on digital education and modern traffic patrol solutions. The showcase highlighted smart traffic robots designed to communicate directly with the public, offering guidance on road safety and explaining traffic regulations in an accessible format.
Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Blooshi, Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, stated that the exhibition reflects the force’s commitment to reaching a wide segment of society. He emphasised that raising awareness of traffic laws and encouraging compliance plays a vital role in reducing road accidents and protecting lives and property.
Public engagement
Major Ahmed Abdullah Al Mehairi, Director of the Traffic Robots Project, explained that workshops conducted during the exhibition introduced visitors to the functionality of the smart robots. These included digital traffic awareness videos, responses to public queries, traffic guidance, educational lectures, and safety instructions delivered across various activities and events.
The smart robots also engaged with visitors by providing real-time responses and sharing information on safe driving practices. The interactive setup was designed to strengthen public understanding of road safety rules while encouraging responsible behaviour among drivers and pedestrians.
Focus on safety
The exhibition included a series of awareness activities and instructional materials highlighting correct traffic behaviours. Visitors received practical tips and guidance aimed at improving safety for both motorists and pedestrians in different road conditions and environments.
Abu Dhabi Police continue to organise initiatives and awareness campaigns targeting diverse community groups.
